Adding dogs and connecting them into a pedigree is the foundation of features like inbreeding analysis, ancestor analysis, and progeny tracking in Dog Breeder Pro. Enter your dogs, link sires and dams, and build out as many generations as you have data for. The more complete the pedigree, the more accurate your COI, ALC, and ancestor analysis will be.

Circular reference detection

Circular references happen when a dog accidentally appears as its own ancestor, or when duplicate records create impossible loops in the pedigree. In most software, this either goes undetected and silently corrupts your calculations, or produces errors with no explanation.

Dog Breeder Pro detects circular references automatically and shows you exactly where the problem is and how to fix it. Your COI and inbreeding analysis are only as reliable as the pedigree underneath them, so catching these errors matters.

Ancestor Analysis Report

See every ancestor in the pedigree ranked by blood percentage, with a breakdown of which generations they appear in on the sire and dam side, how many times they occur, and their own Wright's COI. Useful for understanding which dogs carry the most genetic influence across your lines.

Progeny Report

View everything a particular dog has produced across multiple generations. Each descendant is listed with their blood percentage from the selected dog, their Wright's COI, both parents, and the generation depth. Track the reach and impact of a sire or dam across your program.

Sibling Report

See full siblings and half siblings for any dog, separated clearly with their parents shown. Useful when evaluating a potential mate's family, understanding how a line is producing, or checking what related dogs are already in your program.
